THINGS WE LOVE IN | October

 1. The Fancy - It's like pinterest, or listoria, or any one of those "stuff" websites where you can create an account and "fancy" anything that you see in your feed. You can follow your favourite users who have similar taste to you so that you're constantly bombarded with images of cool things you would never have found yourself. For people with no time it is a godsend - I don't have to trawl the internet constantly for inspiration. Now I just head to The Fancy

2. The Beautiful Wild - What a beautiful blog. Sometimes you can get saturated by fashion images and and all that. This blog focuses on interiors and nature, bringing together gorgeous imagery from different sources. Every image is so quiet and still and perfectly realised. Only the best!

3. Diana Scherer  - Diana Scherer is a German/Dutch artist whose work is inspired by nature. She mostly takes photographs and they are so very, very pretty.

4. Chuck Palahniuk - Without a doubt my favourite author. Known best for being that guy with the weird last name (it's pronounce 'paul-ah-nick') who wrote Fight Club, the man is a complete genius in my eyes. His books are laid with so many ideas and concepts that you have to read them at least twice to get the full benefit of his twisted mind... My favourite is Rant but I am really looking forward to reading his new book Damned, which follows a recently-deceased 13-year-old girl as she explores hell.

Here are a few sound bites of Chucks wisdom....

‘When did the future switch from being a promise to a threat?’
‘Reality means you live until you die. The real truth is nobody wants reality.’
‘Sometimes the past seems too big for the present to hold.’
‘We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will.’
Chuck Palahniuk

5. Grooveshark - So slow on the uptake of this. But, WOW, this site is amazing!Over the years, with so many things taking priority in my life, music seems to have taken a bit of a back seat.New music is getting harder and harder for me to discover. Maybe its my age?? The fact that spending nights in instead of dancing all night is more the norm. The invention of the ipod there for I am stuck in a time warp of music I loved when I was 21. Or that the only time I get to listen to the radio, and therefore new stuff, is in short bursts from driving from A to B. The best thing about groove shark is that you can find everything single remix of all your favorites, plus discover news ones that you never even knew existed. AMAZING!

6. Phoenix Organic Apple & Pomegranate juice - There is something about phoenix that makes me just think of New Zealand and all its clean pure goodness. I’m not really a juice type of girl, more a water and tea (as you know) drinker. But this one is super fantastic, plus the feeling of being patriotic is an added bonus. My next collection im designing (yes summer 2012, can you believe it?!) has a slight biblical theme to it to, so the pomegranate is inspiring me.

7. Bondi’s Best Seafood - Here is one for he locals. If you are anything like me, at night when asked where shall we go/eat for dinner?? I’m stuck, I know I should know where to go, where I want to go, but that question always renders me stupid. Well, I have the place for you! I was introduced to Bondi’s Best a couple of nights ago, and wow, I actually wanted to go back the very next night. The food is AMAZING, the freshest fish and lots of interesting sides like steamed greens and crushed potatoes with samrrillo. Really simple, fish and chips as they should be. Apparently they get their fish flown in from all over the country every day so its the best you can get. And you really do taste it.
Its in the north Bondi shops, just up from the RSL and North Bondi Italian. Go!
